Cycle 3: An extra shot at ISB admissions

Indian School of Business has conventionally had only two cycles of admissions with deadlines on September 15th and December 15th for Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 respectively. However, this year ISB has decided to introduce an additional cycle of admission i.e. Cycle 3. This will allow candidates to who take the GMAT late to better prepare themselves before applying for ISB.

What are the dates of the Cycle 3 admission process?

The important dates regarding the ISB cycle 3 are as follows:

  • Application Deadline: January 15th, 2019
  • Final Offer Deadline: March 5t,h 2019
  • Acceptance Date: Within 10 days from the date of the offer.

What is the application fee for Cycle 3?

  • The application fee for Cycle 3 is INR 7500.
  • This fee is INR 2500 more than that of Cycle 2.

Who should aim to apply for a Cycle 3 application?

Before this announcement, the candidates aiming for an ISB admission would have already strategized about their GMAT tests and applications. However, this recent announcement gives them another option which might motivate them to change their course of strategy. Candidates might opt for a cycle 3 application in the following scenarios:

  • Better GMAT Score: If a candidate is not satisfied with his/her current GMAT score, then s/he can take the time to prepare for the GMAT and try to get a better score that can be helpful in the admission.
  • Professional advancement: If a candidate is anticipating a promotion or a major improvement at the work place in the near future,it is recommended to wait a couple of months and then apply in Cycle 3.
