The ISB PGP YL scholarships are created to help talented individuals from diverse backgrounds access world-class management education by providing financial support. A significant portion of admitted students, around 40-50%, receive scholarships that can ease the financial commitment required for the program, which costs approximately ₹29.7 lakh for two years.
ISB offers a comprehensive scholarship program for the Post Graduate Program in Management for Young Leaders (PGP YL). These scholarships cater to those who demonstrate academic excellence, professional potential, and dedication to making an impact in society. Scholarships can cover up to the full tuition fee, and most merit-based scholarships are automatically considered during the admissions process without needing a separate application.
There are primarily three categories of scholarships available:
- Merit-Based Scholarships, which are awarded to students who excel academically and perform well in GMAT, GRE, or CAT tests, as well as interviews and achievements during the admission process. Some of these scholarships can cover full tuition fees.
- Need-cum-Merit Scholarships, aimed at students with strong academic credentials who also show financial need. These require supporting documentation of income and a detailed essay explaining financial circumstances.
- The ISB Develop India Scholarship, which supports students with aspirations to build impactful careers in India, particularly in social impact or the development sector. It sometimes includes repayment support for education loans.
Additionally, there are specialized scholarships for candidates from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds, including gender diversity, international students, social sector workers, and armed forces personnel, among others.
Eligibility for these scholarships generally requires admission to the PGP YL program with less than two years of full-time work experience enrollment. Applicants must submit valid GMAT, GRE, or CAT scores and any necessary supporting documents for financial need or diversity scholarships. Family income limits apply for need-based scholarships, often capped at around ₹18 lakh per annum.
Applying for scholarships is integrated with the PGP YL admissions process. All applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships when submitting their application, which should include academic transcripts, test scores, essays, and recommendations. Those applying for need-based or diversity scholarships must submit additional supporting documents after the initial application. Some candidates may be invited for interviews that also influence scholarship decisions. Scholarship results are communicated along with admission offers, and recipients must confirm acceptance.
To increase the chances of securing a scholarship, applicants are advised to showcase strong academic results, competitive test scores (such as GMAT above 650, GRE above 320, or CAT in the 98th percentile), leadership abilities, and impactful experiences. Writing compelling essays that clearly explain financial need or personal achievements and submitting complete, accurate applications before deadlines are also critical for success.
